1.Shukla Phanta Wildlife Reserve
Shukla Phanta Wildlife Reserve is one of the well known and first wildlife reserve of Nepal,situated in Terai region’s Kanchanpur District. At first in 1969 ,this reserve was managed as hunting reserve but in 1976,this was managed as Wildlife Reserve ,covering an area of 305 sq.km.In the south boundary of uttar Pardesh of India is located and in the west Mahakali River And a tributary of the Ganges,In the east Chaudhar River and in North part Forest belt and their cultivation’s.
The reserve consists of 350 species of bird, 24 species of mammal,10 species of ectoparasites and biting flies, 14 species of fish and many more different species.The Grass species imperata cylindrica and heteropogon contortus is found here.Muggere crocodile, Indian cobra, common krait, indian rock python,rohu and oriental rat snake are found ,where Bengal tiger ,swamp deer,elephant,sloth beer, indian leopard and hippi hare are protected under CITES.The reserve has highest number of bengal floricans in Nepal.
2.Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve
KOshi Tappu wildlife Resrve is the first luxury campaign wildlife reserve ,located in Udaypur,sunsari and Saptari district’s covering 175 sq.Km. area.Rare species of birds can be found ,like Bengal Florican ,Sarus crane, swamp francolin .485 Species of bird can be found such as watercock,common golden-eye, Indian nightjar, black-headed cuckooshrike, striated grassbird, large adjutant stork,dusky eagleowl, Pallas’s fish eagle, , and gullbilled tern. 31 species of Mammal and 200 species of fishes are recorded.we can also find toad, frog, lizard snake,turtle gharial and muggar crocodile inside this reserve.This reserve is one of the place where you can take fond of watching different species of birds.
3.Parsa Wildlife Reserve
Parsa Wildlife Reserve ,established in 1984 , in the lowland Terai of Nepal covering 499 sq.km area.It is one of the largest wildlife reserve in the country adjoining Chitwan National Park in the west ,Hetauda -Birgunj Highway in east and forest in the south. The reserve has a good number of the Wild Elephant, Tiger, Leopard,Blue Bull, Sloth Bear, Gaur, and Wild Dog. Other animals are Sambar Deer, Chital, Deer, Hog deer,striped Hyena, Barking deer,Langur monkey, Ratel, palm civet and jungle cat. Many species of snakes are found in the reserve due to its tropical climate which includes King Cobra, common Cobra, Krait, Rat, Snake and the Python. There are 300 species of birds found in the reserve,Some of the common ones include Giant Hornbill,flycatchers , Peafowl, red jungle fowl, and woodpeckers.

1.Chitwan National Park
Chitwan National Park commonly notable as Heart of jungle, elephant Safari into the jungle certainly shouldn’t be incomprehensible . Chitwan National Park offers massive habitat wildlife & natural beauties, with rivers, marshlands with different land and aquatic wildlife.We can also enjoy the canoe ride and jungle walk. We can expect to see rare reptiles, birds and mammals,monkeys, rhinos, deer,bengal tigers, one-horned rhinos ,a huge selection of bird,rhinoceros, leopards, sloth bears, wild bison, gangetic dolphin, butterflies, as well as the near extinct Gharials crocodiles.
2.Bardia National Park
Bardia National Park is One of the largest National park of the country situated in Bardiya District,established in 1988 as Royal Bardia National Park. The park covers 968 sq km area,which adjoins Karnali river in east ,Siwalik Hills in the north ,Nepal gunj -Highway in the south and geruwa village is in the west.Elephant safari is additionally available within the Bardia National Park.
407 species of birds includes White rumped vulture ,peafowl,bar-headed geese, Sarus Crane , Pale footed bush warbler and bangal fllorican. More than 53 mammels which includes wild elephant, swamp deer,bengal tiger , rhinoceros, and gangetic dolphin.A large number of faunal species are found in the national park .
3.Sagarmatha National Park
Sagarmatha National Park is the first national park of Nepal recorded in UNESCO World Heritage Site which is in the solukhumbu district at the submit of mount Everest.This national park covers an area of 1148 sq.km.and included in the Sacred Himalayan Landscape.Being in the himalayan area it has an amazing view of the mountain with the diffrent species of animals and vegetation’s. 118 Species of birds include Himalayan monal, red-billed chough, blood pheasant and yellow-billed chough ,some rare mammals are also found here,those are : red panda, Himalayan thars, snow leopard, Himalayan black bear ,musk deer ,langur monkeys, Himalayan wolves and martens.Sagarmatha National Park is an exceptional place to observe.
4.Langtang National Park
Langtang National Park is the first national park in the Himalayas’s with an area of 1710 sq. km. ,lies in the Rasuwa,Nuwakot and Sindhulpalchowk districts.The park has secret of Gosaikunda Lake, Dorje Lke and the highest point in the park is the Langtang Lirung. The park is connected with the international border to tibet in the north and east ,bhotekoshi and trishuli river in the west .The park exhibits high diversity of the different types of the vegetation as per the ecosystem types.The most fascinating things to do in the park are Gaisaikunda trek, Hiking a peak,Hiking up the Valley ,Alpine flora, Himalayan Mousehare and trisuli valley forest.
5.Rara National Park
Rara national park lies in the north western high mountains of Nepal with an area of 106 sq. km in the Mugu and Jumla districts.This national park is small national park of the country which has the main highlight rara lake in the elevation of the 2990 m.There’s an different species of flora and fauna where plants include pine, rhododendron,oak, juniper and the mammals include musk deer, Himalayan black bear,leopard, Jackal, wild dog, red panda and others 20 different species of the mammal.The park has 214 species of the birds including coots, snow cock, mallard, common teal and gulls.
6.Khaptad National Park
Khaptad National Park is located in the Far western region as one and only mid - mountain national park in Western Nepal which covers an area of 225 sq. km. The park named after Late khaptad Swami who moved to the area in 1940 ‘s to mediate and worship .The park has a cultural importance also it has Khaptad Mai temple and presence of Shiva shrine at higher triveni and large number of pilgrims come to worship in every year on a full moon.There is a lake khaptad daha at the north-eastern part of the at an altitude of 3050 m .The park has biodiversity containing 217 species of the birds, 567 species of flowering plants 18 species of mammals , 15 species of butterflies and 4 endemics.
7.Shey Phoksundo National Park
Shey Phoksundu National park is largest national park in the country which covers an area of 3555 sq. km and lies in the districts of Dolpa and Mugu. This Park is one and only trans-Himalayan National park in Nepal. Phhoksundo park situated in this park is one of the attraction of the park which is at the elevation of the 3612 m .The park has most beautiful scenario of the mountain park in the world to be visited.The park has religious sites also include tibetan village ,Buddhists and other religious parts also.
Endangered species include Blue sheep, ghoral , snow leopard, grey wolf,Himalayan black bear leopard and Himalayan tahr .The park has 286 species of ethnological importance , six reptiles ,200 species of birds, and 29 species of butterfly.
8.Makalu Barun National Park
Makalu barun National Park is located in the Himalayas of Nepal Solukhumbu and Sankhuwasabha as an eighth national park of country.This Parks covers an area of 1500 sq. km. and includes the mountain Makalu, Chamalang, Baruntse, And Mera.This Park is rich in it’s bio diversity ,consisting 315 species of reptile ,16 specie of amphibians , 88 species of mammal, 78 species of fish and more species of flowering plants . Wildlife includes snow leopard, red panda, leopard cat, red fox, musk deer and many others.
9.Shivapuri Nargarjun National Park
Shivapuri Nargarjun National Park lies in the Kathmandu, Nuwakot, and Sindhupalchowk districts adjoining 23 VDC, as the ninth national park of Country.The park covers an area of 159 sq km.shivapuri is rich in the water resource and is the main source of drinking water for Kathmandu Valley.Since this park is near from the Kathmandu valley visitors are more attracted towards the park for the trekking .Views of the Himalayas’s ,,and the view of the Kathmandu valley can be breathtaking view which can be seen from the park.The park has 318 species of the birds which includes barred cuckoo-dove ,Eurasian eagle-owl and golden- throate barbet.The park ha different species of butterflies , mammals , birds and vegetation.
10.Banke National Park
Banke National Park ,Nepal’s tenth national park located n Banke district ,mid -western region.It covers an area of 550 sq. km.and ts buffer zone which is of 343 sq. km cover parts of Banke ,Dang,Bardia,And Salyan districts.The Banke National Park has large number of vegetation’s which includes Savannahs and grasslands ,mixed hardwood forest ,Sal Forest , Flood plain ,bhaber and foot hills of Chure range .The major look habitat such as royal Bengal tiger , four-horned antelope and Asiatic wild elephant.124 species of plants, 34 species of mammals, 58 species of fish , 24 specie of reptiles, more than 300 species of birds and 7 species of amphibians. The National Parks and Wildlife Conservation Act 1973 protects, Three species of mammals includes tiger, striped hyena, four-horned antelope, four species of birds includes giant hornbill, black stork, Bengal florican, and lesser florican and two species of reptiles includes gharial crocodile and python residing in the Park.
